Snoring is a significant social problem that is rarely treated with the seriousness it deserves. There are thousands of snorers in this world suffering not so “silently”.
Although snoring is usually physically harmless it can produce problems for the snorer’s and their partner through sleep deprivation. Snoring can also result in relationship problems.
Some really bad snorers do wake themselves up at night, several times.
One important fact about snoring is that it might be a sign of sleep apnea-Obstructive Sleep Apnea – OSA. Severe sleep apnea can lead to a variety of other problems including hypertension, heart disease and stroke – if you suspect you suffer from sleep apnea, see your doctor.
Are they any treatment?
Yes, there are machines like CPAP, but it is not very comfortable to wear it every night, this was the only option until surgical procedures are being done widely to help these hopeless patients.
Laser and Coblator Surgical procedures such as the LAUP,LAPT, CAUP etc can help reduce snoring and sleep apnea to great extent.
Snorers come from all walks of life, child to old age, men and women, married or single.
Testimony of a patient from USA
A catholic priest came from USA suffering from loud snoring, sleep apnea and daytime sleepiness. It was making his duty as a priest difficult to concentrate, with morning headaches, and feel uneasy to attend retreats etc.
I did Laser and Coblator surgery, corrected his nasal blockage and the blockage in the throat six weeks ago.
He seems doing well now.
This is his testimony
Dear Dr. Paulose,
My heart-felt greetings to you and family for a Happy and Blessed Easter. Hope you are fine. By now I am almost fully healed from the surgery…..no more bleeding and throat is fine too. As far as I understand, my snoring is gone and my sleep is much and much better and comfortable than before. May the risen Lord bless you abundantly. Thanks once again for the most wonderful and effective care and treatment you gave me; I will never forget it.
Regards, Fr. J…. (from USA)
