RF Radiation from the mobile phones could cut male sperm production by a third, researchers from the University of Szeged, Hungary told the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
Of the remaining sperm exposed to mobile phone emissions, high numbers were found to be swimming abnormally, reducing the chances of fertilization in a woman’s womb.
It was unclear whether the men were carrying their phones in their trouser pockets, belt pouch or in briefcases typically carried at waist level. Professor Evers, who headed the Hungarian study, also cautioned that executive stress might also exacerbate the effects of mobile phone radiation.
What is known is that sperm counts are decreasing sharply but less so for non users of mobile phones like farmers not carrying a mobile phone at all.
