Hazards from cell phone towers
Mobile phones(Cell phone) work on radio frequencies ranging from 300 MHz to 3000 MHz. The wave lengths of these ultra high frequencies ranges from 10 to 100 cm. chronic exposure to such frequencies can be hazardous, especially if you are exposed to them for a long duration of time. There are numerous dangers of cell phone towers, particularly for people who live in close proximity to a cell phone tower and are continuously exposed to harmful cellular radiations.

The major health hazards which are related to over exposure to EMR are:
and Abnormal cell growth and permanent DNA damage
and Sleeplessness, irritability, anxiety, depression.
and Weakened blood-brain barrier
and Childhood and adult leukemia
and Brain Tumors-Acoustic Neuroma
and Eye cancer
and Infertility and miscarriage Sperm count in men is known to decrease by constant exposure to these radiations
and Memory loss
and Sensori Neural Hearing loss
and Sleep disturbance and chronic fatigue
and Cardiac problems
and Hazards to pregnant ladies and their unborn babies…
People who are ignorant about the dangers of cell phone towers are leasing out their terraces to telecommunication companies in allurement of a lot of money. They don\’t realize that ultimately the money they are earning through this would be wasted in treating their own selves against the radiations being emitted from right on top of them.
The biggest problem in this however, is lack of proper evidence to support various claims regarding the dangers of cell phone towers, especially to the people living in cell sites. It’s high time we understand the seriousness of this issue and take necessary steps to curb the hazards of cell phone towers.
Recently, a petition was filed in the Kerala High Court by a doctor seeking a direction to a cell phone company preventing them from installing a telecommunication tower near his house. He stated in his petition that the telecommunication company had not bothered to inform the people about the ill-effects of putting up such a tower and hence the project be stalled.
Every citizen under the Constitution of India has the right to life and hence he ought to know what is right and what is wrong for him.
