To improve the appearance of a flattened nose it is necessary to introduce some additional framework underneath the skin to raise and straighten the bridge-line. The operation is called Augmentation Rhinoplasty. Various materials are used for the additional framework such as bone, cartilage and synthetic materials are used and the latter have shown not well tolerated by the body.
