Shadowing means simply watching and learning exactly what the doctor does on a daily basis.
You learn doctor/patient communication, and how some procedures of his/her speciality are done. Shadow doctors are like taking a test drive before they take up future career option.
At a hospital, you could do being many things – a wide array of procedures. If you shadow a surgeon, you will watch them in operation theatre, follow up in the surgical recovery rooms, and follow him/her to possible surgical cases.
Great for anyone interested in the medical field.
