Very Large Cholesteatoma of the Ear Causing Facial Palsy

A cholesteatoma consists of squamous epithelium that is trapped within the middle ear and mastoid which can erode and destroy important structures within the temporal bone. It can cause complications like facial palsy, brain abscess, meningitis etc.
Treatment is surgical excision by mastoidectomy.
(This is one of the biggest cholesteatoma I have ever seen)

Mastoidecomy and clearance of the disease is done in Jubilee Christian Mission Hospital Trivandrum Kerala India.
