One young Jehovah witness patient came to me to have his Tonsils removed using Co2 Laser. He came to know that Tonsillectomy using Laser is blood less and even a remote need of blood transfusion doesn\’t arise. I was surprised to hear about his conviction and zeal for the word of God from the Bible. He talked to me in great detail about their principles on receiving blood transfusion. It was something of a new revelation to me.

No matter how peculiar their doctrines, they deserve to be complimented on their determination and single-minded zeal. However, as St.Paul might have said concerning them, “I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge” (Rom. 10:2).
About Jehovah\’s Witness
Jehovah’s Witnesses are Christians who believe that the Bible is God’s word and that Jesus is their Savior. This Christian denomination dates back to the late 19th century. Charles Taze Russel is credited with organizing the first Bible study groups that later gave origin to the Jehovah’s Witness sect; these groups focused on Bible prophecy and the second coming of Christ.
Their name comes from the Bible, the Book of Isaiah, Chapter 43:10-11.It indicates that they bear witness to Jehovah — Jehovah being the personal name of God.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in a supreme God — a spirit which has a body, but not a human body. Jesus is the Lord and Savior but He is not a part of God.
Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in the Trinity — the father, son and Holy Spirit — as, for example, Catholics do. Rather, Jesus is separate from God and was God’s servant on Earth. Jesus is also said to have been given an exalted status in heaven to a higher level than angels.
Because Jehovah’s Witnesses believe Jesus is not God, and because they believe that prayer is a form of worship and that one must not worship false gods, Jehovah’s Witnesses pray to God, not Jesus.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that after the end of the world, which is imminent, 144,000 people will get a chance to go to heaven. The rest will have a chance to be resurrected and live on a permanent paradise on Earth, as long as they are virtuous in life. Those judged unrighteous will cease to exist. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in a remaining soul after death.
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe all other religions to be false, and are deeply involved in preaching as a way to impart the hope of resurrection to humanity. Politics is not an important part of life, as Jehovah’s Witnesses believe governments will also be destroyed imminently. As a consequence, Jehovah’s Witnesses rarely vote, and they do not take part in anything that has to do with national politics, including the singing of the national anthem or saluting the flag. Jehovah’s Witnesses also do not celebrate birthdays or Christmas, and most avoid Thanksgiving, which they consider to be a Pagan holiday. Weddings and funerals are observed, and celebrating anniversaries is not forbidden.
Jehovah’s Witnesses tend to be conservative. Homosexuality, premarital sex, and abortion are considered sins. For many, gambling and drinking are prohibited, though some choose to do so in moderation. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not accept blood transfusions, even if it means death. However, more and more hospitals are now using bloodless techniques in surgery, often crediting Jehovah’s Witnesses as their push to research alternatives.

Facts about Blood transfusion
It is a fact that thousands of men, women, children have perished since Jehovah Witness blood ban inception year 1945.
Simple fact-The Bible does not prohibit Blood transfusions. If you are bleeding to death it is more dangerous to refuse blood transfusions than to take one. Bloodless surgeries are great if they can be elective.1/3rd of all trauma deaths are from blood loss.
Jehovah’s Witnesses elders will investigate and disfellowship any Jehovah Witness who takes a blood transfusion, to say the issue is a ‘personal conscience matter’ is subterfuge to keep the Watchtower out of lawsuits.
Jehovah’s Witnesses children die every year worldwide due to blood transfusion ban. Rank & file Jehovah’s Witness are indoctrinated to be scared to death of blood.
They do use many ‘fractions’ or components of blood, so if it’s ‘sacred’ to God why the hypocrisy .The Watchtower promotes and praises bloodless elective surgeries, this is a great advancement indeed. But it’s no good to a patient if he is bleeding to death from a car crash and loses much of my blood volume and need blood transfusion.
Remember the Jehovah’s Witnesses use thousands and thousands of pints of blood donated by others. They use 60% of the blood volume as broken down “fractions” then go on Bible thumping rants about how dangerous and sinful blood transfusions are.
Watchtower society will not allow a Jehovah Witness follower to bank their own blood ahead of surgery which is the best cheapest safest.

Bloodless surgery is not only for Jehovah’s Witnesses but for all patients. I think that every doctor should be engaged in it
