Snoring and OSA in Children:
Tonsils are tissues on the sides of the upper throat and if enlarged may narrow the width of the upper airway. Adenoids are at the back of the nose and can obstruct the nasal airway.Enlarged tonsils and adenoid is the frequent cause of snoring and OSA.Treatment of OSA in children is removal of tonsils and adenoid.
Coblation Tonsillectomy:
Coblation Surgery is otherwise cold ablation, uses RF energy in a saline medium. The heat generated is only 40-70 degree C. There is less thermal damage, hence post op pain is less and faster healing. It is better than Laser or any other traditional method of Tonsillectomy in my experience.
