It was the Sunday school moral class, the teacher asked the kids would you say a lie if some one give you one Ruppee? All the students shouted in big voce “NO”.
Then the teacher asked would you say a lie for ten Rupees? Answer a big NO…
The teacher continued 100 Rs, 1000 Rs and reached one lakh.
As she reached one lakh the sound of answer became very feeble or near nil.
If we are asked same, what will be your answer? Would you say lie if you are given one Rs or a million Rs?
Wisdom and the Acquisition of Money
It matters a great deal how money is obtained. Proverbs reminds us that God is intimately concerned with the way we earn a living. God is not aloof to the way we obtain money.
Not only should we avoid sin to gain wealth, but we should not sacrifice any morality or priorities to earn money either. Since there are many things in life more important than money, our efforts to earn money should never rearrange these priorities
Proverb: Bread obtained by falsehood is sweet to a man, But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel (20:17).
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor, the pursuit of death (21:6).
