Antibiotics are only indicated when there is bacterial infection. Medications to reduce acid secretion by the stomach are used to treat patients with gastro-esophageal reflux (GERD). Treatment of low thyroid hormone levels help patients with voice disorders caused by hypothyroidism.
Surgical treatments of voice disorders have improved dramatically in recent years.
Surgery is indicated for diagnosis for taking biopsy and treatment. The operation is performed with ‘telescope\’ (endoscope) under general anesthesia.
