I have been using Feracrylum for many years for haemostais in many ENT Surigical procedure like tonsil-adenoidectomy, nasal surgery like FESS. It is an iron molecule, a polymer of Polyacrylic acid with a molecular weight 100,000.It is safe to use as it is not absorbed into blood stream, acting locally forming a polymer with albumin in blood. It has got antibacterial, antifungal and hygroscopic properties too. It is good in packing the nose for epistaxis.

Feracrylum, a water-soluble polymer of polyacrylic acid (Iron salt) is known for its haemostatic property. I have used it for many years because of its excellent haemostatic, anti bacterial anti fungal and hygroscopic properties. It is not absorbed into the blood stream because of its large molecular weight. In controlling epistaxis, post op nasal surgery, Tonsil adenoid surgery and other wound management, it seems be quite effective. Here I am using in a case of Caldwell luc and FESS surgery for fungal sinusitis.
