Dirofilariasis is the disease caused by Dirofilaria worm infections-“heartworm disease” and is caused by D. immitis. Surgical removal of the worm is the treatment of choice.
Here middle aged lady presented with a painful nodule under the cheek and CT with contrast imaging showed a well defined sac with Dirifilaria worm inside.Excision thru a caldwel luc approach removed the sac and the specimen is sent for Histopathological examination.(Histopathology examination confirms Dirofilaria)
